(8/27/22) Bryant Wiedeman would stand victorious at Davenport Speedway on Night Two to capture his second victory of 2022 with the Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League running in conjunction with the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota to wrap up the quarter-mile Iowa weekend sweep.
Early Davenport Speedway competition with twenty-five Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League drivers entered would see Taylor Reimer start the fastest with a 14.531-second group qualifying lap as Chase McDermand, Gavin Miller, and Kyle Jones each would earn heat racing wins.
Setting the field of competitors would find high point qualifier Gavin Miller would draw an invert of four to set the feature lineup with Kyle Jones and night-one winner Chase McDermand making up the front row grid.
Going green flag feature racing would find third-starting Bryant Wiedeman use intense low-line momentum swings on the opening sequence of laps to take the early racing lead as front-row starting Jones and McDermand stayed within striking distance and while quickly gaining.
Holding off the late-surging Daum through a flurry of restarts, Wiedeman would not be denied in gaining his fifth Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget career feature victory for the defending league champion. “I knew I had to be really consistent around the bottom, those restarts scared me a little bit but I was able to capitalize well” stated a celebratory Bryant Wiedeman in the Davenport Iowa Victory Ceremony.
Advancing eight positions, Zach Daum would maintain a solid showing to finish runner-up getting by pole-sitter Zach Daum that would complete the features final podium placement. Sixth-starting Jacob Denney would finish the night fourth as Night One winner Chase McDermand rounded out the Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League/Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series top-five finishers at Davenport Speedway Night Two.
